Foodie Icon is founded in 2018 to prevent the disappearance of local Desi food cultures and traditions, counteract the rise of fast life and combat people’s dwindling interest in the Desi food they eat, where it comes from and how our Desi food choices affect the world around us. For more than 2 years Foodie Icon has worked to provide good Desi foods service to those who need it most in our community. We focus on local Desi food access, equity, and nutrition issues related to food and hunger. The Desi Food Group works on both ends of the Desi food system from production to distribution. Working towards building a better local Desi food system for all, we focus on breaking down barriers to growing good Desi food locally and breaking down barriers to getting good Desi food to those who need it most.
